The running mate claimed that although the US has historically welcomed immigrants, it shouldn’t import labor from outside. Usha Vance is a lawyer and the daughter of Indian immigrants.

“We welcome newcomers, but only on our terms,” he declared.

Trump’s opponent in the past, Mr. Vance, called the Republican “idiot” and threatened to become “America’s Hitler”.
