Iraq: US bombs former pro-Iranian militia base, killing four.

An spokesperson from the United States Department of Defense stated that the attack in question was directed at “fighters who were attempting to launch attack drones” that posed a threat to “American forces and the coalition” in their war against jihadists in the region.

At one of the bases of the erstwhile pro-Iranian militia Hachd Al-Chaabi, the United States Army carried out an attack on the evening of Tuesday, July 30, south of Baghdad, resulting in the deaths of four members of the militia.
